Facelift FAQ's

Q- What's the first thing I should do when considering a facelift?
A. The initial step is to have a consultation. We'll talk about why you want surgery and what results you expect. After an examination, I'll be able to determine if you're a good candidate for surgery and if the procedure can meet your expectations. We'll discuss the techniques I employ, the anesthesia used, and the possible risks and complications associated with the procedure.

Q- Can any surgeon perform a facelift?
A. No. Face-lifting involves a major dissection of the skin and should be undertaken only by those who have demonstrated ability and have had extensive training and experience in the procedure. A plastic surgeon's training includes a minimum of three years of surgical residency training and an additional two or three years training in an approved plastic surgery residency. Following that, the plastic surgeon must pass thorough written and oral examinations before being certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Q- Do I have to go to the hospital?
A. Most plastic surgery procedures are performed in our fully accredited state-of-the-art surgical suite located in our office. After a short stay in our recovery area, you may choose to go home or we will arrange for your accommodations in an aftercare facility.

Q- Can you guarantee the results of a facelift?
A. Healing is affected by factors beyond the control of any surgeon. However, the greater the surgeon's training, experience, and skill, the greater chances of a satisfactory result.
